I've been baking more lately...my cake wasn't pretty but it tasted good. The middle of the cake collapsed. The cake had a double batch of chocolate buttercream frosting...just for Brice

Some facts about us:

Lately I have had an obsession with burning candles in the house...usually vanilla or cinnamon.

I have been reading books like Brice plays video games

Brice has a drinking problem...of sweet tea. He drinks a gallon a day

Rusty's gas usually smells like mine....I'm pretty sure that we are not eating the same foods

Every morning when we get out of the car at work we say "Humans" aka Human Love.

Rusty has to have attention or a kong toy at all times

We really, really love Abuelo's

Jack pees through a hole on his belly...yes it is as weird as it sounds

Brice hates cake, but he has no problem eating all the frosting

I always put on Brice's only pair of flip flops, even though I have my own, when I go out to water the flowers

I have a thing for high quality toilet paper

I get mad at Brice when he criticizes my Wii skills

Most people have a junk drawer...we have a junk closet

Rusty has poops that look like they came from a lab, also known as monster turds

Brice has an obsession for anything sweet

We don't know how we watched TV before DVR

I won't hold the leash when we walk Rusty, because " I don't make him walk right"

When the cats are hungry they fight

I hate for the seam of my socks to go directly across the end of my toes.

We think carpeted bathrooms are disgusting

It drives me bonkers if the pillowcases are put on crooked

I can't start a movie after 7:00 or else I will fall asleep

Texas Tech has more students than Duncan's population

I absolutely canNOT stand when people let their children run around stores and restaurants like little beasts

I think a new washer and dryer would be more practical than jewelry

I sometimes go on compulsive organizing streaks...at home and work

I can sleep anywhere anytime...just give me at least 15 minutes

Staying up until 10:30 is late for us

Garage Sale...Kind of

This weekend Duncan had a city-wide garage sale as part of "Summer Fest." We decided that we might throw some junk outside for a little while and hope that wecould get rid of it. Originally we had thought we'd just put the 4 big items on the sign out front and stay inside....then we went up into the attic and found a few more pieces of furniture that we decided to see if we could get rid of as well. So we ended up staying outside until around 11. We actually did pretty good, we got rid of the washer, dryer, entertainment center, desk, office chair, two butterfly chairs, and a double stroller(from the neighbors). Our landlord actually bought the double stroller and was confused on why we had one. We had jokenly said we should put this marble countertop for the bathroom out too, our landlord bought it last year and put it on our front porch and said they would install it later, after a few weeks of sitting on our front porch we moved into the shed in the backyard.....needless to say the countertop is still sitting in there. I guess it's a good thing we didn't have is out there since our landlord came by :-) Below is a picture of the cheesey sign that we had in front out the house...we also made small signs to put at the end of the street with the address and an arrow that said furniture and washer and dryer. All we have left are two coffee tables now...which is better than we expected. Our garage seems so much bigger now that we don't have all that junk in there.

Stray Cat

Tonight Brice and I went out to dinner. When we got home we let Rusty come out front with us and we talked with our neighbors some. While we were talking a stray cat walked towards us. Rusty started cautiously approaching the cat and the cat cautiously approached Rusty. The cat turned out to be friendly. So Rusty sniffed "the little beast" for a while, then she climbed up in the tree. Rusty really wanted her to come down and play some more.

Congrats Jason and Lori

Jason and Lori got married July 11th. I didn't take put a few pics and everything from the ceremony looks the same...butt shots that are dark. I'm sure that there are lots of good pictures that others got. Most all of the family made the long trip from Missouri to Lubbock. It was good to see everyone since it has been a while since I've been to Missouri. We need to make a trip up to Missouri sometime.

Before the wedding we took pictures. While we were waiting Bailey was sitting next to me and I asked him to smile...I took three quick snaps and these are the faces I got..too cuteAvery, Natalee's daughter (Travis's sister) was the life of the reception...She danced the entire time. Avery came up to Brice and asked, "May I have this dance." Brice danced with Avery for a while, then Bailey decided he wanted to join the fun.

I've been told I need to put more Human pictures up, but we can't seem to get many human pictures without a dog in them too.
