Customized Entertainment Center???

So Brice and I bought a new entertainment center, It's dark espresso brown with lighter accents on the doors. It was delivered yesterday, and looks really nice. Brice was at work, and I started to see how the cable box, amp, ect would fit in the cabinet. The cabinet wasn't deep enough for the amp... so we had to take the heavy top off and cut a hole in the back. We also made a different hole for the wire to the TV to go to. Since we were already making modifications we drilled two small holes for speaker wires to go through. It turned out being more work than we had anticpated, but we are happy with it now. We never thought that an entertainment center wouldn't be deep enough for an amp. Next we'll be sure to measure.

Not ready to go back to work

Brice and I took off the entire week of Thanksgiving and went home to Amarillo. Neither one of us wanted to go back to work today. I only work 14 days in December and Brice works less than me.

Not much work left...

As of Friday Brice and I have 9 days away from work!!! We'll be heading to Amarillo for Thanksgiving. Hopefully when I first get there I can get some Chistmas shopping done, since there isn't anywhere to shop in Duncan.

Everything is getting hectic at work, with everyone trying to finish up projects before the end of the year. Looks like I'll definately be heading back to the field in January at least once. And possibly the middle of December.

New Hobby

I've decided as of today that my new hobby is going to be baking cool cake's like Natalie. http://lonestarcakes.com/ I haven't actually tried to make anything, but I need to get some cake pans an the cake decorating stuff. I'm sure since I'm not very artistic at all...and my hand writing is equivalent to a third graders this will probably be pretty interesting.

I went to Lawton to Hobby Lobby last week with one of my friend's from work, Johanna. We bought Christmas decorations. I also bought some ornaments....but I don't have a tree.

I wanted to Keep Her!!!

We found a cute brittany spaniel on sunday. We walked around the neighborhood with her and some kids told us where they thaught she lived. No one was home so we left a note
to call. The dog was muddy and we still don't have a backyard fence so we gave her a bath and she hung out inside with us. She was a ball of energy and a cat chaser. Rusty enjoyed having a friend for a day. The owners called us around 7 and Brice walked her back home.

Fishing Trip

My fishing trip was a lot of fun. We left yesterday after work and drove down to Lake Texoma. We had an awesome steak dinner and hung around the cabins. We went out on the boat around 7 this morning...it was about 39 degrees. The first 45 minutes was a little slow....then it seemed like the fish were jumping into our boat. There were times that all six of us had fish hooked at the same time. We hit our limit of fish before 10 and just released the rest of the fish that we caught. "Sparky" cleaned the fish when we got back to the boat dock and divided them into bags for us to bring the fillets home.

Couch Pictures

Here are some pictures of the couch and loveseat. They recline and are really comfortable. I also bought the big area rug....we are waiting for all the wrinkles to fall out before we move it.

I still have my field trial going on...which pretty much means no weekends, even if it's just for a few hours I've had to go out to the lab to check samples. Tonight I'll have samples arriving from the job today around midnight....which means I get to go out to the lab to deal with those (PJ's and all). I am " taking off" next thurday to go fishing down at lake texoma...I'll still have to run into work when I get back and check samples....I don't really have days off with this trial going on. I'm really looking forward to the trip it should be a lot of fun.

Another long week...

This is the beginning of my third week to work at least 55 hours in a row. I went back out to the field again for a frac job to catch samples on Saturday and Monday. Friday night I got to stop by Jaime and Travis's house for a while and see them and play with Bailey...He's turning into a little dude. Today it rained all morning on me when I was out on the job, so I was cold and wet for most of the day. It wasn't too bad...but i was super muddy and Halliburton truck is covered with mud both inside and out.

I still need to put up pics of the couch...we ordered a rug and it was defective so we had to send it back...we have bad luck. But I'll try to put those pictures up soon.

2 year...Brice got and X-box

and I got a couch...that he really likes to share with Jack

Work

I went out on a frac job Monday. It was pretty neat to see all the equipment and to feel the ground shake a little when they start pumping the fluid and proppant downhole. I was doing some work with the water that was being used so I was crawling up on the frac tanks and then working out of the back of the truck. My coworker took the picture bellow right after the sun came up. We had to get up at 4 am to make it to the well site on time. It's been a really long week for both Brice and me. I've been styaing late or leaving and going back to work late when samples from the field get to Duncan. Brice has a project deadline coming up so he's been staying up at work until at least 6 everynight.

Skunk

Brice's parents came to visit this weekend..and it was an exciting first night. Maddie woke up and needed to go poty so Brice took her and Rusty outside...Maddie found a skunk an so sprayed right in the face. Then we found a recipe of peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap and washed her head twice (gotta love the internet) then we gave both dogs a full body bath with regular dog shampoo. Unless you put your nose right up on her face you can't even smell her anymore and even then it's not strong thankfully. Spraying a diluted bleach sultion outside got the odor out of the yard (it stunk bad on the side of the house) we also put bricks around any of the holes in the fence where the skunk could have gotten in.

I left today around 1:30 to come to Alvarado for a fracturing job. It's my first time to go onsite. I have to train so people how to do some of the water testing that I've been doing in the lab....I guess everyone wasn't kidding when they said that I'd be the biocide expert...and it took less than three months of work.

I got something I've been wanting...

I called mom as soon as we got home, and had her guess what Brice bought today (I think she was hoping for something a lot smaller, and that comes from a jewelry store :)

Well, Brice bought us a new couch and love seat, they are being delivered next Saturday, so I'll have pictures then. They recline and are microfiber.

Last weekend we went to Amarillo. We bought a grill while we were there. We had been looking at getting a propane grill for a while.

It's not the best picture, but I'm obsessed with hummingbirds. I love to sit on the swing on the back porch and watch them.

It's been a while

Nothing exciting has been going on in the great town of Duncan. Brice and I met his parents at Altus Lake last weekend. This week has been busy for me with presentations and meetings, not to mention that my viscometer isn't working right again. So that means i get to spend a day tearing it apart and rebuilding the head...I didn't know was going to be all this mechanic work. We are heading to Amarillo for the long weekend Friday after work. I was thinking about taking Friday afternoon off, but I found out today my boss from Houston is going up to meet about the project that I've been working on.

Go Tech!

We are getting excited about football season starting, and the trash talking and the emails have officially begun in my group. With all of these OU fans and a few Aggies it should be pretty entertaining. Penni and Finnis sent us a Tech garden flag...I'm sure it will be a big hit will all the OU and OSU fans on our street!

Today I had to give a presentation to some possible customers over the work that I've been doing. It went really good. I'm probably going to be in the new recruiting brochure, a photographer took picture of me yesterday in the lab, and was also taking pictures of me giving my presentation today.

I'm on a committee that remodeled a break room in my module, and I picked out the furniture for it, and the last of it came in today. Now in between experiments I have to start assembling the furniture...it's just putting the seats on the chair bases for now.

Since we don't have "real kids" like Jaime and Travis to post videos and pictures of, everyone get to enjoy seeing the animals that we treat like kids! I thought it was hilarious watching Rusty play with the big dog stuffed animal.

I thought about buying a new car

I was thinking about buying a new car, but I chickened out. I decided to wait another year or so, then I can get exactly what I want, even though it would be nice to have a small SUV now.
This is the entry table that Penni and Finnis gave me for my Birthday. It looks really nice, we had to put quarters under two of the legs to get it to set even....our landlord put the tile in himself and didn't get it level. So we had some laughs about that.

Jack napping

Brice likes cutting Jack's hair...and Jack likes it too.

Squirrel Catcher

Rusty is an official bad ass and caught a squirrel in the back yard after work today. The squirrel was hanging out by one of the trees in the back yard and Rusty saw it when it started to run up. He caught it by the tail and the then he picked it up in his mouth and tried to squeak the little guy. We made him let it go obviously, and the squirrel ran up the tree. And he caught it again. After the second escape the squirrel made it safely up the tree. Rusty feels like a total bad ass since he finally caught a squirrel.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!.....silly animals too

Brice is cooking me enichilas for dinner tonight. We went to eat this weekend with Andrew and Callie to Chili's as a pre-B-day dinner. Today when I got to work Andrew and Callie gave me some homemade cookies (delicious) and a cute hummingbird feeder that I had been wanting. Brice wants to get me a nice grill, so we are in the process of looking at them and trying to figure out how we'd get it home. I would also suggest that anyone who needs a good laugh watch Wipeout on Tuesdays on ABC @ 7 it's hilarious...FYI it's one of my new favorite shows.

Nothing much

Nothing much has been going on in Duncan...I gave Brice a hair cut today (my favorite thing in the world) The cats are being little terrors. Rusty is being his usual cute self, but Brice is obsessed with the dog's poop ever sice he has been sick...which makes its way into every conversation...Brice:"Man I'm so proud of Rust Dust's good poop, aren't you?" It sure makes for a wonderful dinner conversation :)

Our Landlord said we could do anything to the yard...

Anyone that had been to our house had seen the jungle on the side of the house...well, we took care of it. There were vines and junk that had grown up to taller than me in some spots. We are planning on spraying for bugs and round up and maybe trying to get some grass to grow next year...maybe or rocks.

My periwinkles are looking good too.

Rusty has become really obsessed with the squirrels that live in our backyard....sorry the video is sideways, but it is still funny

Long Week

My presentation yesterday went well, my boss and the director from Pune and a few other people were there. They liked our work that we had done. They also liked the cookies that I made and took up some up to work and saved some for the presentation. This week seemed really long after going in last Sunday...last night when I got home Brice and I both fell asleep on the couches, but I didn't wake up until 2am and then went straight to bed and slept until 7:30 this morning...it was amazing sleeping that long. Today Jack got his hair cut again and Rusty, Riley, and Jack all got baths.
