Four Door Sedan

Brice and I went to Amarillo last weekend for Memorial Day. Brice has had new car fever ever since Thanksgiving and would spend his evenings searching online for cars and reviews. We went to look at cars on Saturday...a Tahoe is what Brice and I thought we were looking for. We also looked at 4-Runners. And this is what he ended up getting

Had to put a Tech licence plate on the front, since it already had the holder and Oklahoma doesn't have front plates

The best part is the heated and cooled seats....it blows air up your butt :-)

Brice's secretary saw him driving on Friday and told everyone up there that Brice got a new car. Brice was going to the copy machine and someone asked him if he got a new car...he said yes...then they asked what kind....he said a four door sedan...they said that doesn't tell me much....then he said I'm sure you'll see me driving it....

Flowers

I'm acting like I know what I'm doing planting flowers out front this year. I planted some petunias, impatients, lantana, and few bulbs a few months ago that are starting to come up. I finally had a chance to put some mulch out today, it has been raining just about everyday here. Our yard...mostly weeds has been growing like crazy. I'm sure our neighbors are asking what we are doing having flowers and awful looking grass. I also bought an orchid today and I'm going to try not to kill the thing.

My Orchid

Close up of the orchid flower My "baby" petunias to the left of the driveway

My petunia around the mailboxThe big flower bed by the front door...pitiful looking roses....pink impatients(I bought two flats that were the best looking ones they had and they turned out to all be pink) some lantana towards the back were there is no shade from the tree in the front yard. Hopefully they all start the spread out soon and look really good.

Brice is so happy that all the animals want to be by him

Jack looks like he's laughing.....His foot is still yellow from back in Feb. when he first got sick because the medicine he was taking had a yellow-orange dye...which seems to be permanent

Riley snoozing, telling us to turn the lights out

This is how Rusty falls asleep every night...this toy has been named the "bedtime bone" because he only cares about it when it's time for bed

In the field again.

I left at 6am on Saturday with 3 people that I work with to go on a frac job for a new fluid....it was near Victoria,TX. After driving all day we went out to the location to do some pre-job testing...we didn't get to the hotel until midnight. This morning we met at 4:30 to go back to location after our "nap." We finished pumping the job around 2 and got away from location around 3ish and drove up to Austin and called it a day.

The worst parts of going to field:

1. Port-a-potties....needless to saw I will not use them. So today from5:30 until 3ish felted like it was never going to end...starting about 6:30am.

2. When you get 3 hours of sleep and the company man (customer) thinks it's humorous to call me Sunshine....not amused

3. Rain....being wet and muddy all day is not funny

4. Only getting 3 hours of sleep

Other than that it's a nice change of scenary from the lab

Kids

It's been a while since I've updated this. Nothing exciting has been happening in Duncan. A few weeks ago we had more layoffs. It was about 250 people total but no one in the Technology Center got laid off this time. I looks like I might be going back to the field at the end of this week. If the job stays on schedule I'll be going back to Bay City, TX on Friday. All our kids are four-legged furry guys....so that's what you get to hear about :-) I've been busy with Jack, he's been sick on and off for the last month...but hopefully he is better now. He is acting more like himself....but he has gotten used to being spoiled. Riley wishes she was an only cat still....she hasn't been the same ever since the first trip to the vet. Rusty is exited that the squirrels are back...so he has something to "hunt"

finally an update

Jackers is finally turning the corner and starting to feel better...and eat. He went for almost two and a half weeks without eating much of anything...besides the kitten formula that he was being syringe fed. Currently the only thing he will eat is kitten food or certain flavors of mush...picky boy. Jack is so skinny now, you can see his vertebra, hips, and femur Riley is STILL being mean to him.

Riley was being curious
Rusty was yawning, but it looks like he is screaming
Rusty and Jack sharing
When Jack first started eating he was only eating dog food

Jack looks like he just fell over dead

Back on Location

Well, I'm back out in the field for work....this time to Kilgore, TX and somewhere in the middle of no where in Louisiana. I'm going to a few different locations while I'm down here to do some testing, the plan is to leave Tuesday and and head back to Duncan if everything goes as planned.

Jack is finally starting to feel better and act like he has more energy. He had to go back to the vet and spend a few more days after he got blocked up again. He is now taking 3 pills a day and also taking a liquid vitamin because he is anemic...he has turned out to be an expensive kitty. He hasn't been eating much to speak of so I have been syringe feeding him kitten formula, he will eat a little bit of the soft food, but still doesn't really have any appetite at all. Hopefully he'll start eating in the next couple of days. Brice in on medicine duty while I'm gone....which he is trilled about ;) Riley is still acting like a brat, and being me to Jack.

Poor Jack

Yesterday I noticed Jack in his liter box and he was trying to pee but nothing was happening, he was still doing it at lunch. I called the vet and took him in as soon as I got off work. The vet said that he had a blockage caused by a stone or a plug. He stayed at the vet overnight last night an had a catheter put in which and some medicine to help with bladder spasms. He is staying at the vet again tonight, they want to leave the catheter in at least 24 hours and then usually watch him for 24 hours after they remove it to make sure he is still peeing on his own. It's a good thing that I noticed it when I did, because if a cat goes for more than 24 hours like this then they can die. Poor Jack
